Quick answer: Exfoliate 2 to 3 times a week, not every day. For the face, use a scrub made for the face, like the Acno Scrub Clarifying Face Scrub. For the body, use a body scrub like the Herbal Body Scrub. Massage gently on clean, damp skin, rinse well, moisturise after, and use sunscreen the next morning. Never scrub broken, sunburnt or irritated skin.
What exfoliating does
Our skin sheds old surface cells all the time. In heat and humidity, sweat, oil, sunscreen and dust can sit on top of the skin and make it feel rough or look dull. Exfoliating helps clear that surface build-up, so skin feels smoother and fresher.
The key word is gentle. Skin is not a pot to be scrubbed clean. Hard scrubbing can leave it red, sore and more sensitive to the sun.
For the face: Acno Scrub
Acno Scrub is a clarifying face scrub with Spearmint, Tea Tree and Salicylic Acid, plus Neem Extract, Walnut Shell Powder and Vitamin E. As printed on the tube, it deep cleanses pores, helps control excess oil, exfoliates blemish-prone skin and helps refine the look of pores.

For the body: Herbal Body Scrub
The Herbal Body Scrub has Tea Tree, Neem and Peppermint, with Salicylic Acid, Walnut Shell Powder, Vitamin E, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Niacinamide. As printed on the tube, it exfoliates dead skin, helps smooth rough texture, supports a more even-looking tone and helps clear dull surface build-up.
- Size: 100 g, Rs 1,990
- How often: 2 to 3 times a week
- Good for: rough elbows and knees, back, arms and legs
Use it the same way: on clean, damp skin, gentle circles, rinse well, pat dry.
For the lips
Lips need a much softer scrub. Our Mango Lip Scrub is a sugar scrub with mango butter, also used 2 to 3 times a week.
After you scrub
- Moisturise. On the face, a light gel like Blush Dew Hydrating Gel Moisturizer. On the body, your usual body cream or lotion.
- Use sunscreen the next day on your face and other skin the sun reaches. Freshly exfoliated skin deserves protection.
- Keep scrub nights simple. If you also use strong products such as a retinol cream or brightening serums, consider skipping them on the nights you scrub if your skin feels sensitive. Our night routine guide shows how to keep evenings simple.
What to avoid
- Scrubbing every day. 2 to 3 times a week is what the packs say.
- Pressing hard. Let the scrub do the work. Light circles are enough.
- Scrubbing broken, irritated or sunburnt skin, or sore, open pimples.
- Using the body scrub on your face. Use the face scrub for the face.
- Scrubbing right after shaving or waxing. Give the skin a day.
- Getting scrub in your eyes. Rinse with water straight away if it happens.
Signs you are overdoing it
Stinging when you apply your usual moisturiser, redness that lasts, tight or shiny-looking skin, or new dry patches. If you notice these, stop scrubbing for a week or two and keep your routine very simple. If irritation continues, see a doctor.
Cautions
Both scrubs are for external use only. Don't use them on broken or irritated skin, avoid the eye area, stop if irritation occurs and keep them out of reach of children. Patch test first if your skin is sensitive.
